8th graders, 4th graders, Verbs! Oh my!

The 8^th graders had the opportunity to teach verbs to the 4^th graders. The 8^th grade students were responsible for the entire lesson from beginning to end. I broke the students into groups and assigned each group a specific verb type: helping and main, action, or linking. Within their individual groups, the students needed to come up with a lesson. The essential question was: How can the 4^th graders best learn my specific verb type? The 8^th graders then came up with an activity to go along with their lesson. Then they needed to divvy up the speaking/teaching and practice! I saw quite a few students step outside of their comfort zone in order to accomplish this task. I’m proud of how they conducted themselves around the 4^th graders. Great job, 8^th graders.
