8th graders, 4th graders, Verbs! Oh my!

by What's Going On?

The 8th graders had the opportunity to teach verbs to the 4th graders. The 8th grade students were responsible for the entire lesson from beginning to end. I broke the students into groups and assigned each group a specific verb type: helping and main, action, or linking. Within their individual groups, the students needed to come up with a lesson. The essential question was: How can the 4th graders best learn my specific verb type? The 8th graders then came up with an activity to go along with their lesson. Then they needed to divvy up the speaking/teaching and practice! I saw quite a few students step outside of their comfort zone in order to accomplish this task. I’m proud of how they conducted themselves around the 4th graders. Great job, 8th graders.

Here are some pictures from our morning.
